Friday is starting to look like a classic early spring tornado outbreak. Deep moisture will be in place ahead of a dynamic storm system with favorable shear and instability for tornadoes on Friday. Brian, southeast AR, northeast MS ??

Post anything you want from winter wx to svr with this setup.

Freezing line already further southwest than forecasted by the models. Likely the shallow cold air is racing faster and we will probably see a timeframe of freezing rain -sleet before cold air deepens and soundings support all snow. SPC and Norman WFO have caught onto this as well. 10+ inches already being reported in southwest KS with 3-4 ft drifts. It's gonna be historic!

Meanwhile, svr t-storms are forming in OK under the cold upper low. freezing levels are low and mid-level lapse rates are steep so hail should be frequent with these storms. Maybe we can get a mix of hail/graupel/sleet all from a single t-storm.

wow, looks to be more tornado reports in the thunderline region in the carolinas than the moderate in the southeast. i wonder if this will change as the night progresses. the southeast seems famous for nighttime tornadoes.

Well the typical central OK snow. I could see the dryslot working in last night but told myself don't worry becasue the upper low still had to cross us. too much dry air it looks like though looking at WV imagery trhoughout the night. Still historic event for nw OK, sw KS as there have been some insane reports coming from out there.

I'll have to say it, I called this one. Absolutely no snow accumulation. The NWS really blew this one for Norman, they were predicting 3-6 inches by later this afternoon, with the latter 2-4 inches of that occurring today alone. Not going to happen. The News stations were even farther off base, I think Josh said that there were a few predicting upwards of 12 inches for Norman.

Damn, there I go again, bashing the NWS and everyone else.

Damn, 25"+ being reported just north of Fort Supply!

Visible is starting to show the snow pack out in CO and the panhandles.

Creek Co. Oklahoma seems to be really piling up the snow. heavy bands have persisted throughout the county for a while now. 4-6" common up around Tulsa. Bristow with a 6" report. Jeremiah, I would expect Kellyville to have some impressive amounts. Any reports from there?
