i saw on CNN, some pics of the storm before it was dark, in Montague... it was a beast, a really low wall cloud, with rapid circulation.

This has got to be it. This was one of the earlier power flashes. Came when Brian tried to stop that first car. A really faint flash but i think it shows it.

Preliminary report is half mile wide EF-4 tornado in Lone Grove that dissipated SE of Doughtery so we got there just as the tornado was about to lift. So I guess this confirms your theory Sean.

Just remember, it's always easy to say: "We should have done ____" after the fact. We could have just as easily left and drove 90 miles to a storm that got ingested into the line just before we go there. We would have also been stuck down there for a few hours before they would let us back through. Look on the bright side, Emily wasn't destoryed while you were gone.

BTW, none of my pictures turned out that great. You can see the tornado just above the town, but not the edges of it (which is actually kind of disturbing). Sam's grab is prob the best as I think he managed to get a shot of it right as we pulled up, before it became totally rain wrapped. I'll send around the pictures I did get from earlier in the day. Anyone feel free to use them if you wish.

Sam, you should post that audio clip from Tuesday night. I want to here Jeremiah yell at Kenneth repeatedly. I also want to here all the yelling and screaming when we decided it was time to go. Saw some pictures from the Edmond tornado damage today, damn. Some of those homes were f*cked up.

i was thinking about heading down to ardmore-ish areas on saturday to document some of the damage. i thought they would make good pictures on the website, plus i figure most of the shock of what happened will have dissipated by then. we'll just have to see, who knows maybe they still have it barracaded.

More than likely, Lone Grove is still off limits, and will probably be so for awhile. You shouldn't have too much trouble with Ardmore and nearby.

On a lunch break from the convention...

Yea Brandon, if you go down there you should go west of Gene Autry and look for damage where we were watching it.
Sean, got the message from you about that other tornado that Manross might have seen. I remember that storm being really HPish on 81. I guess I wasn't paying too much attention to it.

Gonna go back for lunch and then a talk by Rich Thompson. I finally met and talked to Reed and some of the TVN crew. They are selling all kinds of shit from shirts to bumper stickers. There is a bumper sticker that say "Mass Chaos" with a tornado picture. I won a Severe Studios T-shirt in a raffle earlier as well.

Well (with all the scale analysis we've been doing) I'm officially counting this as a tornado in the bag for 09'. Looking back at where we were, We were actaully looking back to the west-southwest of Gene Autry and the damage path matches up well with our line of sight.

anyways, a short report..

Nice shots Brandon.

What do you mean about google ads being too expensive? It doens't cost anything. I've had mine for over a year now and have only made $7.80 or something but the thing about google is they don't send you any money until you reach $100. I'll likely never get there. Also how do the facebook and microsoft ad credits work?
